Batik selama ini telah dikenal sebagai produk unggulan nusantara dari sektor industri kreatif yang sangat potensial untuk terus dikembangkan. Potensi ini muncul mengingat kekayaan alam dan budaya yang dimiliki masyarakat Indonesia, termasuk ke-khasan Batik Bengkulu. Potensi alam seperti serat alam hingga bahan pewarna melengkapi aspek budaya dan motif daerah yang semakin memperkaya variasi produk batik. Oleh Karenanya, pada tanggal 21-25 Juni 2022 Pemerintah Provinsi Bengkulu melalui Dinas Perindustrian dan Perdagangan Provinsi bengkulu mengadakan "Bimbingan Teknis Pengembangan Desain Batik se-Provinsi Bengkulu" yang diikuti oleh Perajin Batik se-Provinsi Bengkulu sebagai peserta dengan menghadirkan narasumber yang menguasai bidang pengembangan desain batik bertempat di Hotel Pasir Putih, Jl. Pariwisata Pantai Panjang, Kota Bengkulu. Dengan terselenggaranya kegiatan ini dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan bagi para perajin, dan bertujuan agar para perajin dapat menciptakan desain yang dapat memicu inovasi bagi pelaku usaha untuk menjadikan tren produk sehingga mampu meningkatkan daya saing industri fashion.
Kegiatan tersebut dibuka secara resmi oleh Kepala Dinas Perindustrian dan Perdagangan Provinsi Bengkulu, Ibu Yenita Syaiful, M.Si dengan didampingi oleh Kepala Bidang Industri Kecil Menengah dan Pengembangan Akses Industri, Bapak Indra Jaya Syam, S.Sos serta turut dihadiri oleh seluruh pejabat di lingkungan dinas perindag provinsi Bengkulu.
Salah satu Narasumber pada kegiatan ini Ibu Ken Atjik yang berasal dari Kota Kembang, Bandung, Jawa Barat dan narasumber lainnya.
Hasil dari kegiatan pelatihan ini diharapkan keterampilan para perajin meningkat tentang desain serta perpaduan warna sehingga dapat meningkatkan daya tarik para konsumen untuk membeli Batik Bengkulu. Peningkatan motovasi perajin dalam pengembangan usaha melalui inovasi desain fashion yang lebih kompetitif sehingga Kekhasan Desain Batik Bengkulu dapat berkembang dan lebih dikenal di Indonesia, sehingga meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat Provinsi Bengkulu.
